A self-tuition course for hotel staff has been developed with financial support of the European Commission during the project “Safehotel – Interactive fire safety training of hotel staff“ within the Leonardo da Vinci program for vocational training
Because of the working conditions and high turnover rates in the hotel industry, the implementation of conventional seminars is often problematic. The self-tuition course offers an alternative to this, which makes it easier for the hoteliers to train their personnel in fire safety in an appropriate manner. The course can be easily worked through in a flexible way even during working time and/or night hours. Thus, the work must not be interrupted, and new staff can be provided with training upon joining the team.
For the improvement of fire safety in hotels the training of staff is essential. This aspect therefore is a key criterion for obtaining the Safehotel-Star. The training course includes all relevant aspects of fire safety in hotels. A successful training with the course can be proven for every member of staff by passing the integrated exam which meets the criteria of Safehotel-Star.
